a. Information You Provide Directly

• Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials.
• Recipient Information: You provide the names, email addresses, and relationship details of the loved ones (Recipients) you intend to send memory capsules to.
• User Content (Capsules): We securely store the content of your memory capsules, which may include text messages, voice notes, photos, videos, and scanned documents.
• Payment Information: If you purchase a premium plan or physical legacy gift, your payment is processed directly by our secure third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.

b. Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data: We may collect analytics regarding how you interact with the Service (e.g., app crashes, feature usage) to improve user experience.
• Device Information: We may collect device tokens (via Expo) to send you Push Notifications regarding the status of your capsules.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information strictly for the purpose of operating the Service:

• To Deliver Your Legacy: The primary use of your data is to securely store your capsules and deliver them to your specified Recipients precisely when the trigger conditions (e.g., date-based release) are met.
• To Communicate With You: To send account updates, password reset emails, and notifications about your vault.
• To Communicate With Recipients: We use the Recipient email addresses you provide exclusively to notify them when a capsule has been unlocked and is ready to be viewed.
• To Maintain Security: To verify user authentication and protect against unauthorized access.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information or your stored memories to third parties. We only share information in the following limited circumstances:

• With Designated Recipients: When a capsule unlocks, the content is securely shared with the specific Recipient you authorized.
• With Essential Service Providers: We employ trusted third-party services to operate the app: Google Cloud / Firebase (hosting, auth, storage), Stripe (payments), and SendGrid (emails).
• For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or to protect the safety and rights of Not Forgotten or the public.

4. Data Security & Storage

The security of your legacy is our highest priority.

• Encryption: Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard security protocols provided by Google Cloud.
• Access Control: Access to your private capsules is strictly limited by database security rules. No one can view a locked capsule before its release date.

5. Your Data Rights & Deletion

You retain control over your active account data.

• Editing: You may modify or delete unlocked capsules, update your email address, and manage your Recipients at any time through the app's Settings and Timeline.
• Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account. Please note that if a capsule has already been successfully delivered to a Recipient, or if it has been permanently committed per a lifetime agreement, certain data may be retained to fulfill the terms of the legacy delivery.

6. Children's Privacy

Not Forgotten is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
